New options for armor -piercing drones Switchblade showed AV: How will they come in handy in the Armed Forces

Extend: AV defense company on October 13 presented a new model of Switchblade 400 bargage ammunition, as well as improved versions of Switchblade 300 and Switchblade 600 at Ausa 2025 in Washington. Switchblade 300 and Switchblade 600 Ukrainian troops are already using Russia with Russia to defeat armored vehicles. Details reports Breaking Defense, citing a press release. Switchblade 400 is a medium-range drone weighing less than 18 kg with armor-piercing properties.

It can be assumed that in its capabilities it is an intermediate link between Switchblade 300 and Switchblade 600. The new version of Switchblade 600 Block 2, according to the company, increased the duration of work and the range of communication by 100 km. If the base model flies up to 40 minutes, then the time in the air has increased by about 8 minutes.

Presrealization also states that Switchblade 300 Block 20 was equipped with a modular compartment for installing an explosive warhead with a cumulative charge capable of punching a reservation. According to official characteristics, Switchblade 300 can fly more than 20 minutes and overcome about 30 kilometers. "These three new Switchblade variants provide the necessary flexibility and scalability.

Each design is based on proven combat capabilities, and adds important new opportunities that reduce risks and expand the set of tasks," - commented President AV from AV Autonomous Systems Stevenson. The company also developed a new model of existing UAV VAPOR Compact Long Endurance (CLE). It should now work longer (up to 2 hours) and completely autonomously, performing the task of intelligence, radio electronic wrestling, supply, and struck when needed.

UAV weighs about 16 kg and can be deployed without tools. According to Jason Wright, the senior manager from the AV product line, engineers took into account the wishes of the military: more flight over the target, increased load capacity and reliability in difficult conditions. Modification will allow less components, to prepare the complex to work faster and perform more different tasks with one drone in the field.

"We have turned the system into a capable tool that gives the fighters more opportunities in a compact and flexible building," said Jason Hendrix, Vice president of AV of small unmanned unmanned systems. Earlier, they wrote how Switchblade drones are used on the battlefield. With their help, the 14th separate regiment of unmanned aviation complexes destroyed the Russian Buk and Thor air defense systems in the deep rear of the enemy in Donetsk region.
