Zelensky called Putin "old grandfather" and commented on his visit to Azerbaijan (video)

The President of Ukraine believes that the Kremlin head could discuss other issues in Baku, except for the supply of Russian gas to Azerbaijan. Ukraine does not plan to continue the transit agreement with Russia on gas supply after its expiration at the end of 2024. However, in the event of a corresponding request from European partners, Kiev is ready to discuss the possibility of transit of gas of other suppliers through its gas transportation system.

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said this during a press conference in Kiev in the fields of the Forum "Ukraine 2024. Independence" on Tuesday, August 27. "No one will continue the treaty with Russia. This is a point. As for gas transit from other companies, if some of our European colleagues continue, we will consider their request," the head of state said. Zelensky also noted that he does not have information about the recent meeting of Presidents of Azerbaijan and Russia.

"I do not know what the old grandfather said in Azerbaijan. I am not sure about gas. I think there are other questions," Zelensky said. Putin arrived in Baku to negotiate with President Azerbaijan Ilgam Aliyev on August 19. It should be noted that on August 24, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy called the Russian President "a sick grandfather from Red Square, who is constantly threatening all the red button.
