A thousand poisoned fighters of the Armed Forces: what Ukraine is doing to punish the Russian Federation

Ukraine collects evidence of chemical attacks of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation. The evidence will be considered by the International Criminal Court. Meanwhile, the organization of chemical weapons is convinced that all reserves of combat poisonous substances have been destroyed in the world. In the structure of the Armed Forces of Ukraine there are groups of radiation and chemical intelligence (RCBZ), which monitor the use of chemical weapons by Russians.

They are the first to arrive at the scene of the emergency, provide first aid to the victims, and collect samples with evidence of the military crime of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation. After that, Ukrainian diplomats and law enforcement agencies are beginning to work, who are applying to international organizations demanding to respond to new crimes of Russia. Whether there are any results of these appeals on the portal "Ukrinform".

The journalists of the portal gathered information about the poisonous substances that the Armed Forces were used in the Russian-Ukrainian war. After that, they received comments from military experts and specialists - chemists, diplomats, lawyers. In the end, it was revealed that the evidence of Russian crimes could be considered by the International Criminal Court (ICS).

At the same time, the United Nations (UN) and the prohibition of chemical weapons (OPHZ) did nothing or do nothing to stop the chemicals against Ukrainians. The portal was given the opinion of the political expert Yevgeny Savisko, who explained that so far Ukraine has only heard "deep concern". "The whole system of international security is outdated. Our partners are limited to the statement of facts and angry tirade. They do not apply any real acts against racist crimes," the expert said.

International lawyer Boris Babin explained to reporters that the Russian crime has no statute of limitations and will be engaged in the ISS. In order to punish the Russians, Ukraine must properly collect the evidence and submit them to investigators. "The use of poison or poisoned weapons by the Roman Statute is attributed to military crimes. The key here in my opinion is the timely conduct of the necessary forensic examinations and the appropriate witness base.

" If the ISS recognizes the perpetrators of chemical weapons, he or she may punish them with life imprisonment. Russia, together with other 192 countries, signed the Convention on Chemical Weapons. The Convention states that the State Party undertakes not to produce, use, not prepare, not encourage the use of chemical weapons.

In 2017, the Russian Federation stated that it destroyed all reserves of combat poisonous substances, and in 2023 the OPHZ reported that there were no composition on the planet. At the same time, journalists reminded, no one was able to find out what happened in 2013 in the city of Dumasko, when almost 1. 5 thousand Syrians were killed from the poison, sprayed by the Russians.

Meanwhile, the use of two poisonous chemicals was recorded in Ukraine: earlier focus wrote about cases of use of chemical weapons by Russians. For example, on February 9, the commander of "Tavriya" Alexander Tarnavsky said about it: according to him, the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation began to spend more and more chemicals. The Armed Forces General Staff in January 2024 reported the same.

The first publications about such incidents appeared in the first weeks of the invasion of the Russian Federation: in particular, there were grenades with a poisonous substance in Mariupol. From January 1 to March 1, 2024, the Russians used poisonous grenades 346 times-journalists made a statement from the Ambassador of Ukraine to the Netherlands Alexander Karasevich at the 105th session of OPHZ.
