The Russians are not trying to gain a foothold in Pokrovsk: an officer of the Armed Forces explained the tactics of the Russian Armed Forces (video)

Share: Russian forces are trying to infiltrate deep into the Pokrovsk agglomeration to access key logistics routes from the north of the city. Ukrainian troops conduct countermeasures and special operations to deter the enemy. Russian troops continue their infiltration into Pokrovsk, trying to take control of supply routes from the north.

Serhiy Okishev, an officer of the communications department of the 7th Airborne Assault Corps of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, reported this on October 28 on the "Suspilne" broadcast. According to him, the Russian units are not trying to gain a foothold in the city, but are acting covertly to cut Ukrainian logistical arteries. "They do not aim to gain a foothold inside the city.

Instead, they are trying to pass unnoticed through the Pokrovsk agglomeration and gain a foothold precisely on the logistics routes leading from the north," said the officer. He noted that Russian troops are carrying out mechanized assaults with the support of artillery and guided aerial bombs in the Mirnograd region and its surroundings.

According to the military, thanks to the coordinated actions of the "Azov" units and the 7th Corps of the Airborne Assault Troops, the attacks stop at the approaches to populated areas. "Just recently, on the outskirts of the city of Mirnograd, on the northern outskirts of Pokrovsk, we conducted a special operation in order to reduce the impact of attack drones on our logistics routes.

For security reasons, I cannot reveal the details, but the countermeasures are there, and they are being conducted quite successfully," the military officer said. Serhiy Okishev also said that the Russian troops actively use FPV drones, Lancets and surveillance drones, which lie in wait on supply routes. According to him, the Ukrainian Defense Forces counter these threats with interceptor drones and special operations aimed at reducing the effectiveness of the enemy's use of drones.

As a reminder, Pokrovsk and Myrnograd remain among the hottest destinations in Donetsk region, where Russian troops are trying to break through Ukrainian defenses and seize control over logistical supply routes. As Focus reported, the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation are increasing the gray-red zone around Pokrovsk.
