Mysterious X-69. The characteristics of the stealth rocket, which the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation hit the Trypillian TPP
The focus understood what was known about the new weapons of the enemy. On the morning of April 11, the invaders struck a massive rocket strike in Ukraine. The air forces were able to knock out most of the aerial goals, but some rockets still struck objects. Among them was the Trypillian TPP in the Kiev region, which became the last station that generated electricity within PJSC "Centrenergo". The Defense Express, citing sources, reported that the hit was caused by winged X-69 missiles.
For the first time, the Russian Federation introduced a new rocket at Dubai Airshow 2023 in Dubai. X-69 is the winged rocket of the Air-Earth class, which was stated as a ammunition for the Su-57 fighter. The latter in the Russian Federation is called the 5 generation fighter. The development was conducted by the Raduga plant. It was also stated that X-69 can be integrated into other combat platforms: SU-30MK, Su-34 or Su-35.
Created a rocket for the following purposes: the X-69 missile system is comprehensive and consists of an inertial system, a satellite system Glodass or GPS with comte-M-Mentennas. The DSMAC system is also declared, which scans relief based on the optical range. Therefore, the rocket cannot be launched at night, because during the flight, it should take pictures and compare them with those that are in memory. The rocket is attached to characteristic objects, such as road solutions.
However, the main feature of the rocket is its non-low flight at an altitude of about 20-70 meters, which complicates its detection. For example, rockets X-101 or "dagger" will fly at higher altitudes. Also, a blow to Trypillian TPP means that a 300 km missile has been declared. The start -up in this case was about 400 km, which means a threat to most of the Ukrainian territory.
Open sources suggest that X-69 is the further development of the X-59MK2 missile, which is very similar to the anti-ship X-59MK. The main difference between them lies in the guidance system: the active radar head of the homing was replaced by an inertial navigation system with GPS/GLONASS and the DSMAC system. The first public demonstration of X-59MK2 took place in 2009. The guidance system, as suggesting in "militaristic", was borrowed from the X-555 missiles.
All these missiles are developed by the Raduga ICB. In 2015, the X-59MK2 rocket was completely processed using stealth elements. Only the guidance system remained unchanged. The rocket housing became trapezoidal and the ammunition became more square. Comparing X-69 with Russian rockets, one of the Ukrainian officers in his telegram-channel writes that the ammunition is similar to the X-101, not the X-59M2.
He also stated that the latter fragments revealed that it was in 5 series, each of them of 20 missiles. Probably, the Russian Federation has set up serial production of winged missiles. The invaders are not for the first time using the winged X-69 rocket, but all cases combine what they started in 2024. The first well-known start of the X-69 in Ukraine took place on February 7, according to The War Zone. At the end of February there was also a message that X-69 was launched across Ukraine.
It was then stated that the rocket was launched by the SU-57 fighter. The latest known use is a blow to Trypillian TPP. The Air Force spokesman Ilya Yevlash said that X-69 is an improved version of the X-59 missile. It is currently determined what the TPP was hit. The Patriot SAC will probably counteract the X-69 missiles, as it has intercepted more complex "Circon" and "dagger" goals. "Previously, Russia has already used such rockets before. These are fresh missiles, which are made in 2023.
