How the Gripen will help to get rid of the Russian air defense systems, which are flying from Zaporizhzhia to Chernihiv - an analyst (video)

Share: The Air Force of Ukraine needs Gripen fighters to drive the aviation of the Russian Federation away from the front line and borders, the analyst explained. In this case, Russian planes will not be able to launch guided aerial bombs (UABs), which have recently begun to reach 200 kilometers or more.

Gripen aircraft, when they appear in Ukraine, will begin to repel the aircraft of the Russian Armed Forces "at least the day after tomorrow", explained the president of the Ukrainian Aviation Association of Pilots and Aircraft Owners Hennadiy Khazan on the air of the "Expresso" TV channel.

However, before that, it is necessary to have a sufficient number of long-range high-precision missiles of the "air-to-air" class, which Russian pilots will be afraid of and will not fly to the launch distance of the KABs. Khazan answered questions about the specifics of the provision of Gripen and other Western aircraft. In his opinion, the choice of other fighters, rather than the Swedish ones, two years ago was a political decision.

However, now, if the fighter jets arrive in the specified number, it will very quickly become possible to defend against the anti-aircraft missile defense systems of the Russian Armed Forces, he explained. The planes of the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine will launch air missiles that will force the Russian aviation to fly farther and farther from the contact line. Gradually, the Russians will not be able to hit Ukraine even with jet bombs, he explained.

However, an important role is played by the number of fighters and the number of missiles provided by Western partners. "With a certain number of new planes, with a certain number of long-range air-to-air missiles, this will lead to the fact that the Russians will either stop using anti-aircraft missiles altogether, or it will significantly affect the ability to drop those anti-aircraft missiles," the TV channel said.

The expert also suggested paying attention to the agreement signed by Ukraine and Sweden. It is only about the protocol of intent, so he would very much like to believe in the provision of a hundred Gripen aircraft, but you need to "look at the documents". It should be noted that Focus wrote about the strikes of air defense systems and other types of guided aerial bombs of the Russian Armed Forces on Ukraine.

One of these strikes fell on the Dnipro: a Russian weapon flew 100 km from the front line. The analyst explained that it could be a special drone-bomb dropped by the "Hunter" drone under the guidance of the Su-57 aircraft. On August 28, the Russians reached the Dnieper with a hybrid missile-bomb "Grim-E1", which flew 120 km to the target. Meanwhile, on October 21, social networks announced the reset of the KAB in Mykolaiv.
