"Gas station" broke: Russia forbids fuel export due to prices and deficiency
At the same time, Russian gasoline will still receive countries belonging to the Eurasian Economic Union (EAC). This: fuel promises to be supplied to the occupied territories to Abkhazia and South Ossetia, as well as Svalbard Archipelago. Moreover, the latter is officially the territory of Norway, but it extends a special status that allows Russia to engage in mineral mining there. Russia is also going to provide fuel with military formations.
The government document does not explicitly state what forming is referred to, but we can assume that they mean deliveries to the war zone in Ukraine. As for the restrictions themselves, the government assures the Russians that the measures are temporary. They should help stabilize the internal prices for fuel that have increased during the harvest.
Meanwhile, on September 22, Bloomberg writes that a ban on the export of diesel can exacerbate the deficit in world fuel markets due to increased demand in winter. Already on Friday, according to journalists, diesel fuel went up by 4% - up to $ 30. 21 per barrel. At the same time, the publication emphasizes that this price is much lower than August peak in 34 dollars per barrel, which is the highest in January.
We will remind, on September 21 the Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Alexander Novak stated that the Ministry of Energy has already prepared a plan to help stop the rise in price of fuel. According to the Russian official, the government is ready for "radical steps". Also we will remind that the focus has already explained how sanctions are changing the global trading market of petroleum products.
