According to the manufacturer, the interceptor will use modern artificial intelligence (AI), which is currently in the finalization stage. As a result, AI is expected to provide functions such as data analysis, real-time decision making and interceptor control. The declared cost of the UAV is about 163 thousand Russian rubles. The Russian Federation claims that it is more than ten times cheaper than the price of one Ukrainian drone of the "Baba Yaga" type.
"The elimination of a complex and expensive warhead with explosives and a detonator allows to minimize the cost of the interceptor, making its mass production and, most importantly, cheaper. The main application scenario is the quick detection and defeat of an enemy attack drone before it can strike our positions," said Russian military expert Yuri Lyamin.
As a reminder, the Russian Federation uses the name "Baba Yaga" to denote Ukrainian heavy bomber drones, such as "Bat 620", "Vampir", R18 or modernized DJI Matrice 300 industrial drones. These UAVs are resistant to EW and can operate at night. Focus also reported that the Russians showed their own version of the Baba Yaga drone with 16 propellers capable of carrying quadcopters. 16 propellers, as it turned out, can be lifted at least. The drone was assembled from four 10-inch quadcopters.
