The UK Ministry of Defense notes that in recent days Russian troops and forces of PEC "Wagner" have managed to fix itself to cross the Bakhmutka River and fix themselves in the center of Bakhmut. Last week, the front line was river. The Armed Forces of Ukraine are currently defending the western Bakhmut. At the same time, the British intelligence states that in a broader sense of the Russian Federation, one of the lowest indicators of local offensive actions from the beginning of 2023.
Most likely, the reason is the depletion of the combat force of the deployed formations so much that even local attacks may not be stable. However, it is likely that the Russian command will seek to restore the offensive potential of their forces, so the formation will be replenished with personnel and ammunition. So far, the places on the ground will have to choose between the offensive or create a reliable line of defense.
