The Fractl portable system, created by AIM Defense, looks like a large geodetic laser and weighs less than 50 kg. He was recently tested by the Australian army at the tank landfill in Pukapunal's military zone. The tests also involved the usual drone tools for comparison.
It turned out that the lasers were much more efficient - they worked silently and destroyed UAV with high accuracy, while the air defense products spent many shells and often could not hit the drones until they reached the closest distance. According to the manufacturer, Fractl can work from both the battery and the AC network.
Not only can it destroy their ray size from a 10-cent's coin when they move at a speed of 100 km/h at a distance of 1000 m, but also to burn their sensors at a height harm. The operator can accurately cite the beam with a manual controller and choose which part of the drone to hit for maximum effect. Laser weapons are operated using a computer. By clicking on one of the buttons to track the drone, the gadget takes over control, then you need to press another button to make a shot.
The device makes it possible to switch the sight quickly. The operator can disable the UAV camera, or propeller, or rotor. The operator can manipulate the laser, being at a safe distance from the fighting. This accurate control also allows the laser to attack, as they say, with surgical accuracy, cutting the wires or burning explosives. The power of the beam is smaller than required for the operation of the electric kettle. The targeting system can process both individual and group attacks.
