The Supreme Representative of the European Union on Foreign Affairs, Josep Borrel, stated that the head of the Commission of the Communist Party of China from Foreign Affairs Van I I assured that the PRC would not supplying Russia with weapons, but at the same time replied that the event was supplying Ukraine. Borrel said this at a joint briefing with NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg and the Foreign Minister of Ukraine Dmitry Kuleba in Brussels.
Borrel stated that he had a "personal" good relationship with van, and during the Munich Security Conference, he had a frank conversation with China. "He clearly told me that China could not give weapons to countries in a state of war. They do not provide weapons of Russia. This is what he said to me, emphasizing that this is the principle of China's foreign policy," he said.
According to him, China's diplomat also stated, "Why do you ask me about it when you help Ukraine with a weapon?" Borrel said he explained to his Chinese colleague what the difference between the supply of Russian weapons and Ukraine, especially when Europe and the world are in danger. "Of course, we have to be alert. But, as far as I know, there is no evidence (that China provides Russian weapons - Ed. )," Borrel said.
