To strictly forbid everything subordinate to swim, to melt, to fish, to fish in the gums and its bays!", - Momot said. Restrictions will act until safe indicators from ecologists. Desna is one of the largest rivers in Ukraine flowing in the north. It is the right tributary of the Dnieper. The length of the gum is approximately 1130 km, of which about 591 km passes the territory of Ukraine. The river begins in Russia, in the Smolensk region, and flows through Sumy, Chernihiv and Kyiv regions.

The pollution spread throughout the Sumy River River within the Sumy region and reached Chernihiv, where black water, the smell of rotten, ammonia and dead fish were discovered near Baturin.
